On January 15, 2021 prof. Semenog O.M. within the project «Europeanization of doctoral programs» took part in the webinar «Development of internal quality assurance systems in Ukrainian higher education institutions». The following question is on the agenda: the results of an analytical study of internal quality assurance systems in Ukrainian universities.
Professor T.V. Finikov presented an in-depth study on such issues:
1. General information about higher education institutions that took part in the survey.
2. The presence of an internal quality assurance system.
3. Quality of educational programs.
4. Quality of teaching.
5. Quality of learning outcomes.
6. Quality of work of applicants.
7. Quality of infrastructure.
8. Student-centeredness.
Within the webinar the monograph «Local Quality Management Systems: World Experience and Ukrainian Construction Practices» was analyzed. This monograph is one of the first in the domestic educational and scientific space of works, where one of the key problems of modern higher education – the problem of quality – is systematically and comprehensively, retrospectively and perspectively considered. Especially valuable is the development of algorithms and recommendations for the development of internal quality assurance systems in Ukrainian higher education institutions. These recommendations are not abstract-theoretical, but quite realistic, as they are based on the analysis of the real situation with quality assurance in the national education system.
The principles of formation of the internal quality assurance system developed in the monograph, as well as practical recommendations for its implementation will be properly adapted and implemented by Ukrainian universities, will make a significant contribution to the modernization of the higher education system of Ukraine, which should ensure the comfort of the learning environment, equal access to education, development of an individuality, talent and abilities of students, their assimilation of cultural and professional values, increase of their suitability for employment, professional development of teachers, adherence to academic integrity. And actually all this together, according to the definitions of the Council of Europe, precisely describes the current understanding of the quality of education.
