On March 6, 2020 the following seminars of the training course CompHEd took place. The topic of seminar 2 was «Scientific and Innovative Activity of higher education institutions in the world, EU and Ukraine: Development Trends».
The purpose of the seminar was to characterize the EU policy on the development of higher education research and innovation, to identify the conceptual, substantive and organizational foundations of educational innovation in contemporary higher education in European and national contexts.
In addition to theoretical questions, the postgraduate students were asked to present and comment on the scientific novelty of their research and to characterize the practical importance of their research in national and European scientific spaces. They had to analyze the possibilities of transfer of the innovative product which they created into practice of the education system of Ukraine or other countries.
The topic of seminar 3 was «Quality Assurance in Higher Education (QAHE): European, national and institutional dimensions».
The purpose of the seminar was to form a system of knowledge on the EU policy and the Bologna process in the field of quality assurance in higher education in European and national contexts, to develop the skills to analyze critically the processes occurring at the institutional, national and supranational levels in the QAHE area, understanding the essence of the QAHE culture and readiness to develop it in accordance with European standards and recommendations in their own professional activities.
The tasks of a research-oriented character concerned the following issues: 1) activities of the structures of a particular university in relation to internal quality assurance of education (internal dimension of QAHE): normative, organizational, substantive, procedural foundations; 2) analysis of the peculiarities of the external dimension of quality assurance in Ukraine: subjects, procedures, the ways of interaction of the parties, risks; 3) the place of the university in national and international rankings. The postgraduate students compared the ranking positions of different universities in the region and analyzed the reasons for such rating positions, gave recommendations for their improvement.
