The presentation of the module “Europeanisation of doctoral studies in the field of education: interdisciplinary and inclusive approaches” (supervised by Prof. Sbrueva A. A.) and a seminar on the culture of scientific mentoring (Prof. Semenog O.M.) took place on December 6th, 2018 within the ІІ International scientific and practical conference “Cultural personality of a specialist in the XXI century” for the teachers of Sumy and Sumy region.
The following questions were discussed at the round table meeting:
- Mentoring is one of the components of continuous professional development (Continuous Professional Development – CPD).
- Mentoring in science and education.
- The culture of mentoring in the Ukrainian and European universities.
- Values of the Institute of mentoring.
- The criteria of scientific mentoring.
- The practice of scientific mentoring for effective research and teaching activities: European, national and institutional dimensions.
- Scientific and pedagogical mentorship as support for young teachers of professional skill.
- Scientific and pedagogical mentoring as one of the components of adaptation and socialization of a teacher-beginner.
- The specific qualities of a scientific mentor: identity, democracy, communication, research, leadership, social orientation, cooperation.
- The functions of the mentors: social-pedagogical, consultative, spiritual.
