On May 6, 2020 a workshop number 2 of the doctoral seminar «Monitoring the quality of doctoral research» took place. The following issues became the subject of the discussion of the participants of the class, which was attended by the postgraduate students and supervisors:
1. The object and subject of the comparative pedagogical research.
2. The tasks of the comparative pedagogical research.
3. Methodological approaches used in the comparative pedagogical research.
4. Methods of the comparative pedagogical research.
5. Scientific novelty of the comparative pedagogical research: categories, logic and style of presentation.
6. The practical significance of the comparative pedagogical research: the levels and aspects of consideration.
7. Interdependence and mutuality of the components of the scientific apparatus of the comparative pedagogical research.

Practical tasks performed by PhD applicants included the following:
- Formulate the scientific apparatus of your research. Build a logical scheme in which to reflect the relationships and interdependence of all components of the scientific apparatus.
- To make the comparative table in which to display correspondence of elements of scientific novelty to the research task formulated by you.
Discussion of the implementation of practical tasks by the postgraduate students contributed to their awareness of the shortcomings and further tasks in carrying out their dissertation research.
