On February 17, 2020 the classes for the training course «Comparative Higher Education Pedagogy: National, European and Global Contexts» began.
At the beginning of the class the lecturer prof. Sbruieva A.A. presented to the audience the program of «Jean Monnet Module project», within which the course would be taught, the project’s target priorities, its content, forms of educational and extracurricular activities.
Dear colleagues! We are inviting you to participate in the VI-th International Scientific Practical Conference «Innovative Development of Higher Education: Global, European and National Dimensions of Changes» which will be held on April 23-24, 2020 on the basis of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. The teachers-philologists, historians, art historians of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko, the participants of the international project «Learn and distinguish information-media literacy» (IREX) took part in the trainings on academic integrity.
Different areas of academic integrity are being implemented in Ukraine: creating public support for academic integrity (branding); developing skills and creating a base of academic integrity using international practices, developed by the HEI Honesty Codes.
Coach Yana Chapaylo has presented the SAIUP Academic Integrity Project (saiup.org.ua) and the course «Foundations of Academic Writing and Integrity», which has been taught in institutions of Ukraine since 2016 with the support of the American Council on International Education, US Embassy.
The Colleagues have noted that the Law of Ukraine «On Education» has Article 42 – Academic Integrity; in the Law of Ukraine «On General Secondary Education» there is Article 39 – the Management and Public Self-Government of the General Secondary Education Institution; in the Law of Ukraine «On Higher Education» – Article 32.They have got acquainted with the Edera platform, the online course «Academic Integrity for Teachers», outlined the problems of implementing academic integrity: the problems of legislation; tolerance for violation of laws and ethics; isolation of education and science from world practice.
Some speakers’ thesis: programs for antyplahiat are searching for a match text, but do not check the quality of the content of the text; material; self-plagiarism is the incorrect use of own materials published in previous years; there is no minimum allowable plagiarism. So, let’s start with ourselves, form academic virtue skills. We read and write quality texts.
The project team pays considerable attention to the dissemination of its activities. On January 22, 2020 Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor of SSPU named after A.S. Makarenko Elena Semenog took part in a project management workshop «Academic Mobility Projects – Step by Step», held at Lutsk Pedagogical College and aimed to activate the project activities of the teachers. Online master class of Professor O.M. Semenog was dedicated to the defining role of the project development team and the mission of the project team leader. The importance of social media in the dissemination of information about the project activities of the team was emphasized.
On December 23, 2019 the master’s works in the specialty «Educational, Pedagogical Sciences» (educational program «Methodology of educational work») were defended at the Chair of Pedagogy of SSPU named after A.S. Makarenko. The speeches of the undergraduates, their answers to the questions of the members of the examination commission, discussion of the submitted scientific researches allowed us to confirm the relevance of the problems of the master’s works, compliance of their methodology with the current requirements, observance of the norms of scientific integrity by the authors. The best works of the undergraduates were marked by excellent grades and their authors were recommended for admission to doctoral programs.
