Participation of the research laboratory «Academic Culture of the Researcher» and the participant of the project Erasmus + Jean Monnet Module «Europeanization of doctoral studies in the field of education: interdisciplinary and inclusive approaches» prof. Semenog O.M. in the webinar «Rhetorical and multilingual education in the context of sustainable development of society»

The webinar to the International Day of the Native Language was held on February 14, 2019 at the initiative of the UNESCO Chair «Continuing Professional Education of the XXI Century» at Ivan Zyazun Institute for Pedagogical Education and Adult Education named after Ivan Zyazun.

The theme of the webinar is «Preservation of Linguistic Diversity and the Promotion of Multilingvism in order to realize the goals of sustainable development».

Moderator of the event was a full member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician, Secretary of the Department of Professional Education and Adult Education of the Adult of NAPS of Ukraine N.G. Nichalna who outlined the contradictions and prospects of native language education as the basis of multilingualism in Ukraine.

During the webinar there were online discussions on which the scientific-practical recommendations for modern education in the following areas were discussed and concluded:

linguistic identity in the third millennium, the priorities of the mother tongue and multilingual education in Ukraine and in the world;
transformation of the concept of «literacy» in the modern socio-cultural context;
Centers of Languages and Cultures in Ukraine: experience and development perspectives;
language and culture of indigenous people – a determining factor in the intellectual and creative development of the younger generation;
European experience of multilingual education and prospects for the Ukrainian school;
popularization of multilingvism among the teachers of institutions of higher education – a condition for ensuring their leadership in civil society;
cross-cultural component of teacher’s professional development;
linguistic component of the civic competence of the future teacher;
creation of the language and culture environment in educational institutions of Ukraine as a factor in the development of the national youth outlook.

Participation of the project member Erasmus + Jean Monnet Module «Europeanization of doctoral studies in the field of education: interdisciplinary and inclusive approaches» prof. Semenog O.M. in a scientific workshop on issues of external quality assurance and academic integrity

An important event took place on February 13, 2019 at Sumy State University.

The important issues were considered: «The system of external quality assurance» (speaker - professor T. V. Phinikov, President of the International Foundation for Research in Educational Policy) and «The System of Internal Assurance of Academic Integrity and a Set of Documents in Support of Academic Integrity during the Accreditation Examination» (speaker – A. Artyukhov, a coordinator of the Project for Promoting Academic Integrity in Ukraine at Sumy State University,a member of National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education of Ukraine, a project participant in Innovation University and Leadership).

The participation in the II Winter School of the Association

The participant of Jean Monnet Module Project, postgraduate student Olha Karpus, who is a member of the Ukrainian Educational Research Association (UERA – http://www.uera.org.ua/en), took part in the II Winter School of the Association, which took place on January 23-28, 2019 at Uman State Pedagogical University named after Pavlo Tychyna. The event was supported by the Erasmus+ program. During the study period, the important aspects of the research and teaching activities of Ukrainian HEIs, the principles of academic virtue, the peculiarities of successful writing of scientific works and many other important issues for young researchers were considered.

Report on participation in the Erasmus + Jean Monnet Module

On January 31, 2019 the member of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet Module prof. Semenog O.M. informed about her participation in the project «Europeanization of Doctoral Studies in the Field of Education: Interdisciplinary and Inclusive Approaches» (project coordinator – professor A. A. Sbruieva) at the meeting of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Foreign and Slavic Philology.

A team meeting of Jean Monnet Module with well-known scholars

On January 24, 2019, the team of Jean Monnet Module met with well-known scientists - representatives of Ukrainian pedagogical universities: the head of the department at Glukhiv National Pedagogical University named after Alexander Dovzhenko Dr. habil., Professor Vira Kurok and the head of the department at Poltava National Pedagogical University named after V.G. Korolenko Dr. habil., Prof. A. Tkachenko.

Project Coordinator Prof. A. Sbruieva acquainted the scientists with the peculiarities of obtaining the Jean Monnet grant program and the project implementation process. The content and organizational foundations of the project related to the tasks of Europeanisation of doctoral programs in the field of theory of education, which are carried out at Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko were discussed.
