    On April 20, 2021, the classes of the doctoral seminar «Culture of Scientific Mentoring» took place. The topic of the classes is «Scientific mentoring in reforming Ukrainian education on the basis of Europeanness». The topic of the classes was planned for 4 hours.

    The following issues were clarified at the classes:

    • Mentoring is one of the components of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
    • Mentoring culture in Ukrainian and European universities.
    • Practice of scientific mentoring for effective scientific activity and teaching: European, national and institutional dimensions.
    • Scientific and pedagogical mentoring as support for young teachers of professional skills.
    • Scientific and pedagogical mentoring as one of the components of adaptation and socialization of a novice teacher.
    • Specific qualities of a research mentor: identity, democracy, dialogue, research, leadership, social orientation, cooperation.
    • Functions of mentors: socio-pedagogical, advisory, spiritual.

     

    On April 15, 2021 the doctoral seminar «Culture of Scientific Mentoring» began its work. There was a general presentation of the course «Culture of Scientific Mentoring» and a lecture on the topic «Phenomenology of scientific mentoring: the genesis and modernity of European and national experience».

    The following issues were considered at the lecture: the essence, types and functions of mentoring; a retrospective analysis of the origins of scientific mentoring (academic mentoring); the essence of mentoring in science and education, the values of the institute of mentoring, the criteria of scientific mentoring.

    While preparing for the doctoral seminar, the postgraduate students completed their projects, the current results of which they announced at the classes.

    Initiators: Sumy National Agrarian University and PO «Innovative University».

    The organization was excellent, thorough reports by experienced professionals were presented. There were more than 100 participants, more than 500 views. Our team of innovators is among the active participants.

    The online seminar is held as part of summarizing of the training program for research and teaching staff, organized by the Council of Young Scientists at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, ICF «International Fund for Educational Policy Research», National University «Lviv Polytechnic», Sumy National Agrarian University and PO «Innovative University».

     
     
     

    On March 30, 2021 the team of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko took part in an important seminar of Iryna Sikorska, National Expert of Erasmus + (HERE team) «Internationalization of Higher Education: Combining Global and Local» (National Erasmus + Office in Ukraine & HERE team).

    The following issues were also discussed, in particular: current trends in the internationalization of higher education; successful and failed internationalization decisions in 2020; internationalization trends in Ukraine; overcoming the challenges of internationalization during a pandemic.
