On April 24, 2020 the work of the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference «INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION: GLOBAL, EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL DIMENSIONS OF CHANGE» was continued.

The participants of the project Jean Monnet Module – the postgraduate students of the specialty «Educational, pedagogical sciences» (V. Avramenko, V. Boychenko, N. Kokhanova, M. Lavryk, M. Stepanets, O. Karpus, Y. Shulga, A. Trofimenko) and the lecturers of the chair of pedagogy of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko (M. Boychenko, M. Bykova, D. Budyansky, I. Protsenko, Zh. Chernyakova, O. Kryvonos, I. Chistyakova, N. Kovalenko) presented their reports at the section meeting.

All postgraduate students of pedagogical specialties of the university were involved in the meeting of the section. Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Semenog O.M. conducted a master class on academic culture, she analyzed the speeches made at the meeting.

The conference allowed us to unite the efforts of a wide range of specialists in the consideration and discussion of the topical issues of doctoral training, it became a significant contribution to the development of professional skills of young scientists.

Practical classes «Linguo-cultural aspect of academic culture» and «Narrative-digital component of academic culture»

On April 24, 2020 for the participants of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet Module project at Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko practical classes «Linguo-cultural aspect of academic culture» and «Narrative-digital component of academic culture» were held.

At the classes «Linguo-cultural aspect of academic culture» taking into account the analysis of scientific and pedagogical research the following issues were considered: academic communication: communicative strategies and tactics; means of argumentation and persuasiveness.

The specificity of the classes was that the participants on the same day participated in the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference «Innovative Development of Higher Education: Global, European and National Dimensions of Change» (April 23-24, 2020) and had the opportunity to perform the test tasks for the analysis of speeches (they tested the ability to critically evaluate a scientific text, to formulate their own opinions, to argue).

The work was evaluated with a maximum of 20 points according to the criteria (up to 4 points each): volume (120-200 words); adherence to the structure of the text (clear compositional construction, internal logic); the presence of the author’s approach to the disclosure of the topic; argumentation of the thesis; language design of the essay.

On April 24, 2020 the seminar «Narrative-digital component of academic culture» took place. The following issues were considered at the classes: the main provisions of the researcher’s narrative culture, cognitive-visual technologies, digital-operational processing and modeling of academic texts, educational projects by means of digital technologies and some aspects of personal media resources (blogs).

The tasks were performed taking into account the following research methods: comparative analysis to compare the definitions of concepts in compiling a research thesaurus; comparative and descriptive methods of component-cognitive analysis to determine the structural components of academic culture; system analysis to summarize the work of scientists in the context of the formation of the academic culture of the researcher.

Seminar 4 on the course «Researcher’s Academic Culture»

On April 24, 2020 the seminar 4 «Narrative-digital component of academic culture» took place. The following issues were considered at the classes: the main provisions of the researcher’s narrative culture, cognitive-visual technologies, digital-operational processing and modeling of academic texts, educational projects by means of digital technologies and some aspects of personal media resources (blogs). The results of interdisciplinary projects of the chairs of informatics and the Ukrainian language and literature of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko were presented. Among the areas of interdepartmental projects the following directions were identified: professional and methodological, research, cultural and educational. It was found that important for the implementation and dissemination of the results of work on interdepartmental projects was a virtual platform providing educational, educational-consultative, information-didactic, research support of professional activity of the teacher of the New Ukrainian School, formation of the key competencies.

The seminar also addressed the main issues of the webinar «Academic Integrity: Peculiarities of the Anti-plagiarism Program Strike Plagiarism», which took place on March 30, 2020 on the ZOOM platform.

The webinar moderator was Kotun K.V., candidate of pedagogical sciences, senior researcher of the Department of Foreign Systems of Pedagogical and Adult Education of Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education, member of the UNESCO Department of Continuing Professional Education of the XXI-st Century NAES of Ukraine, Academic Integrity Supervisor at Ivan Ziaziun Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education.

VI International Scientific and Practical Conference «INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION: GLOBAL, EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL DIMENSIONS OF CHANGE» (2)

On April 23, 2020 the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference «INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION: GLOBAL, EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL DIMENSIONS OF CHANGE» started. The applications for participation in the conference were submitted by about 300 scientists, high school lecturers, doctoral students, postgraduate students, students, employees of the system of postgraduate and extracurricular education. The representatives of educational institutions from 10 countries from Europe and the world were among the participants.

The direct organizers of the conference were the Chair of Pedagogy, the Chair of Education Management and Higher School Pedagogy of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko.

The conference was co-organized by the Department of Comparative Pedagogy of the Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine and the Department of Foreign Systems of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the Institute of Pedagogical and Adult Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.

As the Conference is a part of the Jean Monnet Module Project, financial support for the publication of materials is provided by the Erasmus + Program.

Classes on the course «Researcher’s Academic Culture»

On April 17, 2020 the lecture «Praxeological and behavioral-interactive components of academic culture» from the course «Researcher’s Academic Culture: European and national experience» and a workshop «Linguistic and Cultural Aspects of Academic Culture» for the participants of the project took place.

The specifics of praxeological and behavioral-interactive components of the researcher’s academic culture, peculiarities of teaching culture, language and communication culture at the university, skills and abilities based on critical thinking, professional leadership in the sphere of research were outlined.

The following issues were considered: scientific language culture as a component of academic culture; a text-genre approach to the formation of academic culture; architectonics of different genres of scientific discourse; academic communication: communication strategies and tactics; means of cohesion and coherence; argumentation and persuasiveness. The following empirical methods were used: conversation, dialogue, discussion of research problems in the formation of academic culture.
