On October 31, 2018, a joint meeting of the Chair of Pedagogy and the Laboratory of Comparative Pedagogy of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko took place. The report on the implementation of the scientific work by the postgraduate student Arischenko A. S. on the theme «Organizational and Pedagogical Foundations of Inclusive Education of Students at the Universities of the USA» (supervisor - Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Boychenko M.A.) was presented.
The theoretical, normative, organizational, content and procedural foundations for teaching students with special educational needs in American universities have been analyzed. The recommendations on the implementation of progressive American experience on the investigated problem in Ukraine are presented. The participants of the meeting have stressed on the need to draw Ukrainian society’s attention to the actual problems of education of various categories of people with special educational needs in Ukraine, in particular, combatants, displaced people, talented youth, etc. The reviewers of the submitted research (Doctor of pedagogical sciences, prof. A. A. Sbrueva and the candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor I.A. Chistyakova) have analyzed the positive aspects and disadvantages of the dissertation in details and have drawn attention to the necessity of observing the principles of scientific integrity and interdisciplinarity in the fulfillment of comparative-pedagogical research.
