On November 24, 2020 the round table discussion «Approaching the EU through high standards in education and scientific researches. Adherence to professional and scientific ethics in the European scientific educational space» with doctoral students of the second year of study - active participants of Jean Monnet Module project within the framework of the Erasmus+ program took place. The constructive discussion among the postgraduate students was held in order to discourse the issues identified in the round table program. Doctoral students worked independently to search for information in English, demonstrated critical reading and thinking skills, communication skills, ability to work in a team.

The postgraduate students offered presentations of their own scientific and pedagogical research on the particular topic and reports prepared in the English language. The first experience of public speaking caused positive emotions and satisfaction from the performed independent work. The postgraduate students unanimously expressed the importance of dissemination of European integrity and academic norms in scientific works as well as adherence to professional and scientific ethics, academic integrity in the European scientific educational space.

The programme of round table

On November 17, 2020 in the conditions of quarantine distance classes on the course «Academic Writing» for the postgraduate students of the second year of study were continued on the university platform Moodle.

The topic of the classes was «Participation in the scientific conferences, scientific debates (presentations). Modern requirements for the preparation of presentations in English and texts of the reports. Academic culture and integrity: a European code of honor for scientists». The objective of the classes was to analyze modern principles of academic integrity tolerance, dialogue and cooperation; use of knowledge of the laws of speech technique; mastering expressive, emotional, logical means of speech and using them to achieve the planned pragmatic result; preparation of presentations in English and texts of the reports on the topic of own research. Practical tasks for the postgraduate students: to prepare a presentation in English and the text of a report on the topic of their own research (5-7 minutes).

The topic of the classes was «Submission of an application for a grant, passing an interview (grantwriting). Acquaintance with grant projects, events in the field of education within the framework of the European Union Erasmus + program in Ukraine». The objective of the classes was to determine the specific features of the application for a grant, to pass an interview. Practical tasks for the postgraduate students were: to prepare completed documents according to the sample (receiving a grant and passing an interview); to make an application for a scholarship to study in a foreign educational institution, using theoretical material of the classes.
